BENGALURU: Infosys McCamish Systems (IMS), a subsidiary of Infosys BPM in the US, was impacted by a ‘cybersecurity event‘ that resulted in non-availability of certain applications and systems in IMS, the company said in an exchange filing on Friday.
“Data protection and cybersecurity are of utmost importance to us. We are working with a leading cybersecurity products provider to resolve this at the earliest and have also launched an independent investigation with them to identify potential impact on systems and data,” it said.
Infosys McCamish is a platform-based BPO firm that provides services to the financial services sector supporting life insurance and annuity products and retirement plans.It’s also a software reseller for industry-specific clients. McCamish was acquired by Infosys BPM (formerly Infosys BPO) in 2009.
Sources told TOI that some clients couldn’t access a few of its platforms. Infosys’s incident response team and senior management including its CEO Rich Magner, global head of financial services Dennis Gada, Kannan Amaresh, SVP & global head of insurance, have activated incident response plans, sources said. McCamish has delivery centres in Atlanta, Des Moines, Pune, and Hyderabad and employs around 700 people. It counts 40, including 7 of the top 10 US insurers as its customers.
New centre in Bulgaria
Infosys has set up a new proximity centre in Sofia in Bulgaria as part of its growth roadmap in Europe. The new centre will enable Infosys to attract, reskill, and upskill 500 new employees.
