TRAI releases consultation paper on V2X communication framework: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Thursday, April 30, released a consultation paper on the regulatory framework for Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication. The paper has been issued following a reference from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), under the Ministry of Communications, which had, in a letter dated December 1, 2025, sought TRAI’s recommendations on a regulatory mechanism for V2X under the provisions of the TRAI Act, 1997 (as amended).
Regulator invites comments from stakeholders, sets deadline for submissions and counter-comments in May and June 2026
TRAI said the consultation paper has been placed on its official website, inviting comments from stakeholders on the issues raised. Written submissions can be made by May 28, 2026, while counter-comments are due by June 11, 2026.
“In this regard, a consultation paper on the Regulatory Framework for Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Communication has been placed on TRAI’s website (www.trai.gov.in). Written comments on the issues raised in the consultation paper are invited from stakeholders by 28.05.2026 and counter-comments by 11.06.2026,” the official release said.
Responses are to be sent, preferably in electronic form, to Akhilesh Kumar Trivedi, Advisor (Networks, Spectrum and Licensing), TRAI.
