An IndiGo flight 6E108 from Hyderabad to Chandigarh witnessed a safety incident on Tuesday, May 5, after landing, when a passenger’s personal electronic device, reportedly a power bank, caught fire while the aircraft was stationary.
According to the airline, the cabin crew promptly responded to the situation and an immediate evacuation was carried out as a precautionary measure. All passengers were safely moved to the terminal and are being attended to by the airline staff.
IndiGo confirmed that all relevant authorities were informed without delay, and the aircraft will undergo necessary safety checks before resuming operations. The airline reiterated that the safety of its customers and crew remains its highest priority.
