Delhi Airport advisory: The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi on Monday released an updated passenger advisory, requesting travellers to check their flight status before heading to the airport, as Indigo flight delays and cancellations are still affecting the airline’s operations across major airports in the country.
Delhi Airport’s passenger advisory states that IndiGo flights could continue to encounter delays. Passengers are urged to confirm their most recent flight status with the airline prior to traveling to the airport.

DGCA grants extension to IndiGo executives
Meanwhile, IndiGo passengers are experiencing disruptions due to flight delays and cancellations across several airports in India today.
Additionally, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has allowed IndiGo’s Accountable Manager and Chief Executive Officer a one-time 24-hour extension to respond to the Show Cause Notice issued on December 6 regarding significant operational disruptions and identified non-compliances.
The official statement noted that the two IndiGo executives sought extra time in a December 7 request, pointing to operational constraints from the airline’s extensive nationwide operations and several unavoidable causes of disruptions at multiple airports.
Regulatory oversight and passenger safety focus
The DGCA, after reviewing the request, extended the deadline solely to 1800 hrs on December 8, making it clear that no additional extensions would be allowed.
The regulator warned that failure to provide a complete and detailed response within the extended deadline will lead to ex parte proceedings, based on the records available.
The DGCA said it continues to closely monitor the situation and remains focused on passenger safety, regulatory compliance, and restoration of normal operations, while coordinating with airlines, airports, and other stakeholders to minimize disruptions and ensure smooth travel experiences for all passengers.
