How to Install (Step-by-Step)
- Upload to WordPress: Log in to your dashboard and navigate to Plugins > Add New Plugin.
- Upload File: Click the Upload Plugin button at the top of the page. Choose your keviang-author-content-shredder.zip file from your computer and click Install Now.
- Activate: Once the installation is successful, click the blue Activate Plugin button.
Accessing the Tool
Once activated, a new menu item will appear in your sidebar:
- Navigate to Author Shredder in the left-hand admin menu.
- You can also reach this page by clicking the “Start Shredding” link located in the plugin’s entry on the main Plugins page.
Executing a Deletion
Follow these steps to permanently remove content:
- Select Author: Choose a user from the dropdown. Only authors who have published content will appear in this list to prevent errors.
- Choose Action:
- Shred All Posts: Permanently deletes all blog posts by this author, including their metadata and all associated comments.
- Shred All Pages: Permanently deletes all static pages by this author and their metadata.
- Shred ONLY Comments: Deletes all comments left on this author’s posts but keeps the actual posts intact.
- Confirm and Run: Click Shred Content Now. A browser popup will ask for final confirmation.
- Note: This action bypasses the “Trash” folder. Content cannot be recovered once the process starts.
Safety Recommendations
Backup First: Always create a full database backup before using a “shredder” tool.
Deactivate After Use: For security, it is best practice to keep powerful administrative tools like this deactivated when you are not actively using them.
