PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM Kisan) is a popular scheme run by the Central government, targeting at providing financial aid to farmers. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana: How are farmers shortlisted?

The responsibility of identifying farmer families eligible for benefits under PM Kisan Yojana rests on state/UT governments.

Once the farmer applies for the PM Kisan scheme, the land ownership system or land records in different states and union territories are used to identify the beneficiaries.

Once they are identified, the required documents are matched. If everything is correct as per rules, the farmer family gets selected for the annual instalment of Rs 6000.

After this, the state/UT governments upload the details of the farmer’s family on the PM-Kisan portal.

Once the application is made, the state/UT governments have the right to investigate it.

When the provided information is found to be correct, one is considered eligible for benefits under PM Kisan Yojana.

If there is some mistake in the information provided by farmers, the instalment stops.

The mistake could be in the form of Aadhaar number, bank account number, name or address.
